hi guys, i was wondering what is the ABSOLUTE smallest tank size for a adult yellow tail aro. People say that you can house one in a 4feet by 2 feet tank. is that good??? the biggest tank I can get right now is a 75 gal tank which is 4 feet by 1.5 feet. can it house one for life?? also how much is one??

A 180 is ideal. you really need that 2 foot depth and at very least 6 foot length. Such a beautiful fish why shove it in a 75gal? people in the US would kill to haev the opportunity to house one.

To answer your question a 75g is too small and will most definantly stunt its growth

my rule of thumb for large fish is minimum is 3xlength of fish by 1xlength of fish foot print. thats just me though so a three foot aro would need at minimum of 9'x3'

hey hey, guys don't flare up on me...... if it's too small, I won't do it. simple as that. i was just curious cuz this dude in the polypterus was plnning to but a yellow tail with a 12 inch endli bichir in a 4 feet by 2 feet tank. people said that it was ok for that to happen.

Its good for a grow out but sooner or later you would end up needing to buy a new tank.
