asiatica

Hi,

jusz one ? Ok, if you can give hime a tankl on his own.
Asiatica are not tropical, I have mine between 14 and 22 °C al time feeding and beeing active. They spawned at 20-21°C last year.

Asiatica grow up to a foot long (30cm) and they have mighty jaws, that can even bite chuinks out fish they dont llike (my female did this to he husband, sche even ate him alive, his spine was completely without flesh for one inch).

So dont make the mistake keeping the fish too warm, and with others (even own species is hardly accepted!!)

They are great fun, when they stare at you from their tank.

HI BROOKIE, i too am looking at getting a channa asiatica, but what you say about them having to be on their own could be an issue.
Could you yell me what is the minimum size tank a 12" asiatica can live in with a good quality filter.
Cheers pal:)

Hi,

asiatica get over 30cm in length, so a 300 Litre or bigger tank should be taken as minimum.
