Hi guys i am wondering if what people said about tank bursting being a frequent accident? And i want to know weather that is true

If it is what are the causes? And also how to prevent it?

is keeping a monster fish going to sort of increase the probability of my tank bursting like 3 gars?

need help guys thank for your time

Typically tank busting is caused by three things:

1) Improper equipment - Putting a tank on a stand that is not suitable, or placing a tank improperly (not leveled, not supported at all contact points) will cause joint stress leading to a tank blowout. This is the most common cause

2) Improper maintenance - Typically using scrapers or moving large objects around in a settled tank will redistribute the weight or weaken the seams by peeling the silicone off of the seams. This is not very common.

3) Improper Livestock - this is more a cause for alarm in marine tanks. The ever feared pistol shrimp are known for breaking weaker glass panes as well as heavy duty fish being put in tanks that are too small for them (also not common with research).

That being said, if the tank is of sufficient size and thickness, 3 gars will not be an issue.
