i asked a friend to take care of my fish for a weekend, he has small cichilds at home, so i thougt it whould be fine. but because i feed my monster beef's heart, shrimps, raw fish and so on, he thougth it whould be good to give them canned tuna in olive oil... not one but 2 cans... result: 2 dead fish and a week of treatment for all other tankmates.

conclusion: now i rather have starving live fish than to let anybodyelse fead my beasts...

:screwy:

Wow - that sucks bad!
The only time I let someone else feed my fish is if I'm gone for more than a week. Then I tell them to only feed them once or twice and I show them how much to give them so they don't overfeed.

man that sucks, when i have someone that care of my fish i tell them what to feed and how much.

oh man i'm sorry. that's pretty idiot of him tho, seriously. how are his own fish still alive? sorry for your loss, man.

So sorry to hear of your loss. yeah, if you want someone else to feed your fish you have to give explicit instructions on how to do so. Meaning, you say what you can or cannot feed them. We just got back from vacation and had my mother in law take care of my fish, because last time we went to Vegas my mom did, and she killed them. Be careful of who you have take care of your babies.

the thing is that i did explain well what and how much... but the thing is i had bougth recently a new fish, a 60cms pangassius and he wasn't eating a lot, and he knew, so he decided to experiment diferent tipes of food... wen i was away...

people do really stupid things wen they thing they are being smarter than others...

last time i let a friend take care of my tanks (2 10 gals) when I went on vacation, he did a water change and the best cleaning the tanks have seen in a long time. On vacation now to see the ga. aquarium, he's taking care of them again. :)

i guess you have better friends... eheheh:D ;)

Your friend was not being a jerk or anything. Just trying to help out. He failed but then again don't we all. Give him a little slack. I know it isn't just that easy to do but you have to forgive him. Maybe you can get him to help you get some new fish to replace the old ones. And I'm sure he feels as crappy about it as you do.
