alright after all is said and done with my current setups; I want one final 8 ft. tank. I was told that 200 gallons and up start the 8 foot long tanks. So i dont want to go past 8 foot in lengh but am not limited to 200 gallons if that makes since. So in lamens terms gallons doesnt matter just dont want to go past 8 foot( Id like to max at 300 unless more room is needed). Ok the asking the world part comes in. I have been researching semi-agressive cichlids that can go in a monster tank. Some threads and caresheets have scientific name while others have common so that does confuse me a bit, since I have always went by common. I just want some nice big cichlids that will be fine with 2x Oscars, african knife and orante or senegal bichir. More or less some nice big fish for a "monster" community tank. I have looked at Jags, green terrors, Red terrors, flowerhorns and Jack dempseys. I havnt purchased any of the above but if I am able id like to have the 2x O's african brown knife and some type of big bichir and maybe 5 more big cichilids. dont flame I am starting my research so the above might be off. any help..

Tanks come in all dimensions. I suggest figuring out the footprint of space you can devote to the tank and adjust for gallonage in height.

Example: I have 2 360s. One has a footprint of 65" by 36". The other has a footprint of 96" by 48".

I believe the wall is 10 feet long, I am giving it a whole wall in my fish room. I just dont want it to tall, I see some of these 150s that are onyl 4 foot long but like hell of depth(height) Should i just type in 8' tanks sizes on yahoo. Most lfs around me carry 125 and the 150 talls. been stalking CL with no avail

Glasscages.com offers a 240 Acrylic at 96x24x24 and a 300 Acrylic at 96x30x24. And in Glass they have a 240 96x18x31, 370 96x36x17, 300 96x24x31, 375 96x36x25, and a 500 96x48x25!

BOy I've been so tempted by some of those GC.com tanks for so long. Those things are awesome at that price.

Squirtle, I love your avatar lol

I swear i lived in the US i would have that last one... Sweet dimensions... Could keep anything with no worries...

Here's a GC 240gallon. 8x2x2. If your still considering different fish I wouldnt look at flowerhorn for a big tank. Most are dont get along with other fish so a 8 foot tank for 1 fh is a waste.
