Joining you guys from Michigan. I've been fishkeeping for about 5 years. I started it as something to keep me busy during the winter with a 2nd hand 55 gallon community tank. I have had everything from mollies & platys to gouramis, tetras, catfish, crayfish, barbs, loaches, cichlids, and a few other oddballs. I've had more tank setups than I can remember and have had up to 6 tanks setup at once. I've put a lot of time and effort into it and have grown to be a bit obsessed with the hobby. After trying so many different setups and fish, I decided to settle on the more aggressive large breed fish. I currently have a 55 gallon cichlid tank (fish are 3-5"), a 90 gallon with tinfoil barbs, green severums, and a catfish (5-10"). I've had most of them since they were 2" or so and plan to keep them until they are full grown monsters. I'll post pictures of my tanks/fish in the showoff section.

Anyway, Hi and glad to join the forum.

I have a pair of green severums they are such great fish

The severums are very cool fish. Ive only had mine for a few months as I got them from a local fish store that accepts trade-ins and they were already grown to about 6 or 7". I've noticed their color change from time to time, but mostly one is more gold with defined stripes and the other is more green. Does that mean I have a male and female pair, or is it just their individual mood and temperment?

It looks like a pair to me the lighter being the male.the stripes are called stress bars they turn black when they get upset and are very faint or you cant see them when they are calm. Do they have blue and red face spots yet?
