I bet few people have heard this question before.

I have a 65-gallon tank populated with various cichlids. I've tried several times to add some variety by adding an ornimental snail or two. I stick to fairly large specimens for obvious reasons but they just don't tend to last that long. Typically within a few weeks they's dead. My fish are all healty, fat & happy. What could I be doing wrong?

Really? When I had a pond overseas, I used to have those golden apple snails and my pond was filled with Tilapia and other fish. they were fine. In fact they ended up being a plague of snails.
My damn Convicts get bored and start picking on them. :swear:

I have had no problems keeping snails with my cichlids....remember to take them out if you need to raise the sdalt level.

Assistance with snails ............................. Yeah don't get them !!!

They infest your tank quicker that hot s**t they eat all the vegetation in your tank cichlids will find away of sucking them out of there shell's just like a posh man sucking up oysters in an expensive restaurant. so save the plants and the unsightly look of a snail infested tank

:grinno:
