Astatheros Alfari, 10 months now. For cichlid2006

So i have had this guy for 10 months now. Here are pics since i got him.
He has barely grown an inch since i got him, but is much thicker now. Notice the colour change.

It was unbelievable how he stopped showing his colours 100% when i got rid of all the other cichlids, he has no competition now, and rules the 125g.
I cant wait til i get some geos so he will show better colours..

thanks for posting these. i see on the 17 Jan 2009 you went a little nuts with photoshop saturation, lol. looks good though, if only they were really that bright.

im definitely going to see if i can get a hold of this fish.

What tank mates did you have with it?

These are Central Americans, so I moved it there.
They are found from Honduras in the north, south into Costa Rica (maybe into norther Panama near Bocas del Toro).

Very nice alfari. The genus Astatheros has been changed and Alfari are now cribroheros. Like others in the genus, maybe they like to be kept in groups. Could be the removal of the other cichlids. Beautiful fish!
