At a loss...Sick Oscar

My oscar has had popeye for two weeks now. I treated for 1 week with Maracyn, and then for 1 week with Maracyn TC. This morning I dosed with aquarium salt, we'll see. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Increased water changes, but not temp. Will that help with popeye?

OK, changed another 25% of water, the salt didn't help this morning, looks worse actually. Eye is going to pop! There are two meds I haven't tried yet. Maracyn-2 and sodium chlorite. I also have my bass in the tank. Should I use the sodium chlorite?

According to this article, popeye can be caused by parasites as well, which would explain resistance to broad spectrum gram negative antibiotics. I am now treating with malachite green and formalin. We'll see how it goes. The good news is it says that this disease is rarely fatal.
