Hi...i have 3 AT that are around the 2.5-3.5" mark, the largest one AKA ROMMEL, will not at any cost let the other 2 eat at feeding time, he just chases them away and they hide and just either dont eat or grab the odd pellet that may fall there way. now there are other fish in the tank - bala sharks, tin foil barb to name a few and these don't pose a problem, rommel never even looks in there direction. now im not worried yet but i'm concerend that if the smaller 2 aren't eating enough they may suffer and become ill/die:(, so what can anyone suggest???? should i just let things carry on or do i need to take action...........

thanks

Take action,I would remove Rommel for about a week and see how he behaves after that.If he he goes back to his old ways, away he goes....for good.

I am having the same problem ppl say either get more or keep one so i am goin to keep one im selling my IT's and keeping my NTT i tried pulling the bully out for awhile when i did that one of my other IT's took his place then i put the bully back and within 10 min it was right back to the same

Sometimes there is harmony and then there is the near constant squabbling. The thing to keep in mind is that these fish are usually solitary in the wild and really don't care to be around each other in tanks.

well just an update.....i tried re-doing the aquascaping in my tank as a starting point, which for a few days worked, but the bully soon found his nasty streak again and things were back to normal (as above). now ive taken the pest out and he's been in solitary confinement for the past few days, but the other 2 are still very nervous/skittish and are still spending there time hiding....so -

will they calm down and become more at ease with time???
is it partly because they are only small - 3" ish, and they feel threatened by potential preadators??

cheers

Datnoids are pretty shy in general. Takes awhile for them to begin to come out. As long as they're eating you should be fine
