Where the heart is!!!
Hello Datnoid Experts!!!

I was reading through the forums but did not find my answer so I need your opinion on something...

My LFS has had an AT for quite a few months now and its been in full Brackish water. I've been watching it grow and really wish I can purchase it to put it in my FW tank with other Asian Dats, Aro, and rays. (it is now large enough that nothing else would mess with it as it is even bigger than a couple of my asian dats). Do you think I could make this happen and if so, how exactly would I go about transitioning this fish from Brackish to FW without causing an adverse reaction to the other tankmates?

I had an AT before in this tank and it ate well...but one day, I found pieces of it floating around...(Not sure if it was murdered, or died (for lack of salt, tho I did add more aquarium salt to the tank) and got eaten afterwards because it was kinna small). Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Ok... so I did find somewhat of an answer (the drip method over the course of a few hours?...Right?) when further searching the forums but if anyone wants to add any insight, I'm all ears!

Just have your LFS bag it up in a large bag. Float it when you get home. Add/remove 1 cup of tank water every 15 minute for about 1.5 hrs, then place fish in tank. Its always best to QT. a new fish. Post up some picture when he's home

Thanks. So...what I initially thought was an AT at my LFS, is actually a Barramundi. I have done my research, know how big they get, and am still considering growing one out in my FW 120, later to go into my 300, and then upgrade when the time comes. It still needs to be transitioned from BW to FW though so I really appreciate the advice.

Thanks Again
