Well hullo there folks, I've been lurking around and looking at all the stuff here for ages but never actually got round to introducing myself, mostly as none of my fish or tanks were really "Monsters". However, all that is about to change (cue evil cackle) as I'm about to set up a warehouse to breed some kinds of african lake cichlids and am going to take advantage of the huge space to throw in a couple of "display" tanks for some of my dream projects. So, plans are for a couple of breeder colonies of cichlids, at the moment I have haplochromis ch44 and otopharynx tetrastigmata established breeder colonies producing about 600 fry every couple of months each and I want to add a couple more species to the collection. Then on to some monsters, I'm getting a bunch of oscars, not sure if they should be put into a colony pond as space is not really limited or breeder tanks (for couples) so some investigation will be needed there. I want to get some big ol' catfish, something from the bagridae or pangasiidae families (as I have semi mature examples from each) or possibly a large example from the Pimelodidae with an eye to breeding. I've had success breeding numerous species in the home, discus, many cichlids, a few corydoras species, carp and some kinds of tetras to name a few and have been making pocket money out of it for years, and was finally convinced to make it my living. I hope I can learn something from some of you and show something to some of you, so take it easy for now and I'll start posting pics as we set stuff up.......
