finally after a while (3 months) all my bichirs are now eating pellets, they are endli, ornate, longfinned, senegals, and albinos,
very very nice to see them eating those floating pellets,
the simple trick I used, starved them for days, and keep trying to give them pellets, then, thanks to my albinos, among the greediest one will eat anything in the water, then the others follow till now,
and now I can sit back and relax:naughty:

man i wish i could say the same about my bichir. i spoiled him feeding him live bloodworms. that started to cost a bit too much for me so i wanted to see if
he would eat carnivore pellets. no luck :( i tried starving him off of bloodworms
for days and strictly only threw in pellets..still no love.
would anyone know if...it's harder for my bichir to eat if the pellets are the same
color as my substrate?

OK, first able be patient with your bichirs, mine were the same when I got them, I used to give them lots and lots of feeders ( it's bad cause it cost me hell lots of money, and it ain't healthy too). But I also trained them to eat pellets in some other day, and most of time I starved them. I bet they would start eating those pellets eversince no other food available in the water. So just keep trying and be patient, and not to give them any meaty food anymore, otherwise your training would be useless,
man I spent months to train them eating those pellets, so let see you if have lucks with yours, pellets are better for them.
as for colors, I dont think it matters since only one type of food available, no?they would start eating it.
cheers

well now that my bichirs are used to pellets, then just wandering how good are pellets compare to other food you give to your bichirs? are there any effects at all?

All my Bichirs are on pellets. I first started them on Carnivore Sticks because that's all I had. The sticks would eventually sink to the bottom. Now I got some sinking pellets. They love both.

thats good, do you still give them other food other than pellets?

Congrats, i guess my guys are just wierd, I have 4x albino's at 2-2.5" and 2 Endlicheri's at the same size that have been eating pellets chopped up since day one.

Wish I could say the same for my Motoro
