At what size/age do oscars begin to lay eggs. I have two o's in separate tanks and would idealy like to introduce them both into a larger tank to attempt to pair them up. I have kept the separately until now hoping that one would eventually lay eggs (or both so as to sex them first), however as of yet I have not seen any eggs in either tank.
So question is it possible for a 1 3/4 year old oscar female to not have laid eggs?
and also any advice for introducing two males into the same tank (i assume a larger tank size would be needed).
any advice/comments please. thanks in advance

Oscars reach sexual maturity at about 2 years of age. Their size is irrelevant since 1st time spawners can be anywhere from 4" to a foot.

IMO, it's not a good idea to have multiple males (especially bonded males) in the same tank.

Too bad this much time has gone by with the Os separated. I buy young Os in batches and separate out all pairs, as they bond, into their own tanks.

2 years is way two old!

at around 5 or 6 inches is when they reach maturity
