It's doable at around 3". Festaes have smaller, more circular eye spots on their caudal peduncle (yes, that is what it's called). Also, the 2nd stripe on a festae has a small break in it. The second stripe on a mayan wont.
Above is the spot on the area anterior to the caudal of a festae, note how it covers the upper 50%.
