at what size do pbass vents show?

I just noticed something protruding from the bottom of an azul and orino before their anal fin..at first i thought it was their anal but its seemed to be too far back...the azul is about 9 inches and the orino is 7 inches and housed in an outdoor tank

could this be their vent tubing? it passed through my mind after seeing the location of it and how it sorta resembles it...and after comparing the location and size of it with a breeding pair of convicts i thought maybe it could be

ill get pics this evening but could it be or could it be something else
 
U can vent them smaller then 7 inches its just harder to tell. Ive vented my 4.5 inch mono b4. The same thing happens to my orino and mono that r around 7+ inches
 
ive heard you can vent them at 4in, i think it was tongue33 that said so......ive only vented at like 5-6in....never any smaller

i think shes a female. as in orino and the azul i also think is a male. hey check out that one thread that tounge made very informing.
