At what size?

My male is about 1.5 and the female is probably just a bit bigger than an inch.
They are both in a 14g grow out.
Would they spawn in such a small tank?

they will breed in a puddle.
i just bought a pair on saturday. i got them for cheap because they paired up in the shop tank they were being sold in and the male was attacking all the other convicts LOL
probly one of the easiest cichlids to breed IMO.

I have a couple of 10gal tanks with con pairs in them...so yes a 14gal would work. and at 1/2 of a inch or once the female shows pink/orange on the belly, it's ready to breed.
All very good news...
So far her belly has always been a quite pinky (on advice from MFKer's when picking the female out) I guess its up to him now.
I heard that the breed like rabbits (or mice...) so I'm quite looking forward to having a good supply of permanent feeds for everyone.
