Atabapo 1 or 2?

Newest addition currently in quarantine. 10.5 inch Atabapo pike.

That's a male atabapo 1

How can you tell. What tells them apart.

At that size, it is missing a prominent white line in between the red and black of the dorsal fin

How about the difference between the 1 and 2 species? Also this would work with my strigatta pikes would it.

Atabapo 2 take a long time to get red, and when they become red it is a dark red. They also have ladder pattterns on the body as juveniles, a few red dots on the tail, and a large tear drop.

Generally same sex pikes don't like each other as adults. So it might work with one of your other pikes or it won't work with either one.

My strigatta pikes in my 220 I believe are a pair now too. Their about 10 inches.
