Would juvi Atabapo II likely try to eat an 8" BGK, now or in the future as they grow out?

I wouldn't be concerned about them eating the knifefish but I would be concerned about aggression.

Both the pikes and the knife are territorial and both like caves and places to hide. I would be more concerned about the knife attacking and harrasing the juvenile pikes at this point. Eventually both fish will top out at around 14" and then the pikes might have the upper hand.

I have kept Saxatilis with BGK in the past but it was in a 200 gallon tank heavily decorated with lots of lace rock. Even then the larger pikes would chase after the BGK whenever they ran accross each other.

:iagree:

My 8" bgk shares his 125 gallon tank with clown loaches, a 3" red tail black shark, and other fish that are in his cave "territory" and he is fine with them.
I think if I introduce them all at once he will be fine with them... Not sure about the pikes though. That's my main concern...

So before I do throw the pikes in with my BGK, anyone else want to voice an opinion? I really like my BGK and don't want anything to happen to him.

Other options available locally to me are Lents and belly crawlers. Would the belly crawlers be better because they are smaller?
