Hello,

I am very glad to have found this forum. I'm happy to find more freaks like me!

Right now I've got a 135, 120, 110, and a bunch more smaller tanks. I used to run the fish dept at a pet store that went belly up; and I got almost all their tanks when they closed. Just the 135 is in use at the moment, but when I get some more time I will set up my fishroom.

I live out on 20 acres, and I hope one day to build a big in ground tank with viewing area for arrowanas etc.

I love arrowanas and arapaimas. I lived in Singapore for 3 months and arrowanas are everywhere, in ponds and lakes. Also big fw stingrays. I went out a few times to the "agricultural" area in N. singapore where all the fishfarms are. They sell arapaimas for a few hundred dollars for small ones, and they have huge ones if you have lots of $$$. It is a trip. I saw a big concrete pond with half a dozen 6 foot arapaimas in it. You could buy fish to feed to them. Another one had thousands of large angelfish. I saw this dragonfish farm with big earthen breeding ponds. Totally cool. Until now, I never found anyone to share that with who might be interested. Some of those dragonfish (asian arrowanas) go for over $20k.

The biggest fish I've personally ever kept were Queensland Groupers (sw) in a big indoor pond (6' diameter.) My biggest was over 2'. But that was 20 years ago. A few years ago I had a nice 180 gallon reef with 600 watts of pc flourescents. Got everything wholesale...no way could I afford it retail.

Anyway, I will be checking back here often.
regards,
Stefan
