It has been a month or so since I gotten 5 ATFs into a growout tank.

Keeping up with the ATF and wolf fever here, would like to do a quick update and some thoughts. :)

GATF. His is the main reason I got back into keeping ATFs. The seller wouldn't let it off separately and so it came with 3 VATFs as a package. :)

The tank that they are in. Since putting up the main driftwood in the center, there are less chasing between them and I noticed they like to since around it in circles.

With a big enough footprint, I would suggest having such decor to break up ATFs line of sight and aggression.

Beautiful ATF's bro, loving it. Your gatf is beginning to pack on the girth. Can't wait to see it when it's more mature. The vatf's and gatf are also looking well fed. I'm sure you can find a Brevis and tanzie in due time. Be the first on MFK to collect them all, hahaha

Unreal, forgot to mention that u have altum Angels housed with them. I have a pack of altums in their own tank with rose lines and a red masheer. I don't think altums would like a single night in my ATF/dorado tank. Lol

Thanks guys.

Greenerinks,

TATFs are available here on rare occasions but I am very wary about their reputed aggression. Besides DB's killer, the person who sold me the FATF had one that took out his Goliath's eye.

Brevis, not too sure whether they were ever sold here. Are they available in Shanghai? How's the pricing like?

BTW, those are just common angels. LOL! Had no luck in keeping Altums. Disastrous the last time I tried. :(

Crencichla,

The Bambusa has not stabilised itself yet. Refused all sorts of food I tried to feed into the tank. :(

Ahh I see, those vertical lines are decieving on those regular Angels. You know what's funny.. I've kept my pack of altums in a 120x40x50 for over a year without changing water.. And they are flawless lol. I only top up 5-10gallons within the week as the water seems to evaporate really quick on that tank. I've only lost 3 altums before due to my polyuranodon 40cm+ taking bites. Ultimate the eel escaped and died but that's another story.

In regards to the brevis and tanzies, typically in Asia i think ATFs come in two types: white and gold. They are labelled in the most careless way.. In the juvenile stage, I've seen the tanzies and fatf mixed in with Vatf and sumo vatf. I've seen the brevis mixed with juvenile GATFs. If you have a keen eye, you can spot them out and take those home. Very annoying and tedious though as they are usually stocked in a school which makes it impossible to net out specific ones. Although that is how I ended up with my brasi dorado out of 30 other Frankies lol
