Could any viewers Advise me on any tank mates for an African Tiger fish .I am hoping to get a 6" ATF I only have a 10+ inch ornate B. and an Armoured cat. Would these be OK I'm bored looking at what looks like an empty tank.
If there are no suitable companions would 2 ATF show agression towards one another ? also
would they need to be introduced together if not smallest first ?
Thanks for any replies .

Yeah, those tankmates should be fine.

Length 5ft or 6ft ,volume will depend on matching furniture (cabinate ,Hood) I'm hoping to
Buy a tank 2nd hand or have a tank made then either have a joiner build or ,being a bit optemistic build accessories myself. Got the O.K. of the missus b8t it has to look nice.4ft will be moved to a different room to replace a smaller tank though she doesnt know that yet.

Well, consider this. Do you have the space to set up a minimum of a 360US gallon tank (8'x3'x2'). These guys need an enormous amount of tank space to be healthy and look good.
I'd be careful with that 10" Ornate Bichir. I had one with mine and it used to bite at their tails when the lights went out. The nipping was beginning to stress them out, so I sold the Bichir.
At no time should you ever attempt to keep two ATFs together. It will be a disaster. They will fight or one will assume the role as the dominant one, and mercilessly attack and eventually kill the other. You definately will end up with only one.

the master of the tigers has spoken............:headbang2

okey... you said it all... i won't buy one. as much as they are beautiful fish. i have two concerns... one, i don't want to get bitten when i clean the tank.. and two i don't want them to eat expensive feeders (which is your precious fishes).;) wish their devil horns were not too devilish for a community predatorial tank.
