Hey guys just curious what everyone's thoughts and opinions are on an atf living in a ray pond (current plans are for a 10'x12'x3' pond filled to 30"). I have never owned a tiger fish but with that amount of space I figured it might be a possibility to get one? I know they need current but with a pond that size I'm figuring that the flow to properly filter the water alone might be suitable? Just looking for thoughts and opinions as well as exploring some different options. Thanks in advance everyone! It's greatly appreciated!

I think you will be fine. My plan is similar once it is time for my atf to move out of grow out. :)

As long as you have plans to keep the atf from jumping out of the pond if it gets spooked... you should have no issues. I had different groups of atf in 2 open top ponds for a good year. Only time they went flying out of the pond was when I was trying to catch and remove fish from their pond.

ATF don't need current, they need oxygenation and a place to stretch their legs, so to speak. In smaller tanks, current will attend to these needs, but in your pond you should be fine. Just make sure that when they jump, they don't end up ten feet outside the tank.
