ATFs wont go into a cave to sleep like a cichlid would. I think ATFs have to keep moving around just to get oxygen. If anything, something attcked your ATF or your ATF flipped out and ran into something. Hope it does fine though.

No, ATFs do not need to keep moving like some sharks to get oxygen. ATFs don't normally go into caves to hide, but will settle low next to them at times. I've seen mine do from time to time. If frightened by a tankmate, it may take off in any direction, which could result in it injuring or even killing itself if there are sharp edges or obstructions. Avoid having sharp edged rocks or decor. I've seen some nasty gashes as a result. A member named Jino lost a nice looking 10"er a couple of years ago when his darted into a log and couldn't free itself.
