As Mentioned in another post, ive decided to commune 3 GATFs and a TATF.

2 GATFs are much bigger than the others so i separated them. The GATF and the TATF are together with an african aro. Would that be bad for the aro since there is a strong current in the tank?

The tatf is around a centimeter bigger than the smallest GATF. Its bumping the GATF whenever theyget close. No bite marks/loose scales though. They stay on different levels of the tank as well. Both have eaten already. Im using cichla occellaris as dither fish along with a lot of baby feeder fish (molly)

I'd be worried about the cichla. They're much more agressive feeders than the ATF and will likely both out compete them and out grow them. You need proper dithers with the tigers. Fish that look like them enough to be target fish. That is another problem with the cichla, the ATF won't look at them and see a packmate, they'll look at them and see them either as competition or prey. The main point of dithers with ATF is to give them targets so you spread around aggression. If their dithers aren't similar enough to them for them to want to go after them, you may as well not have any dithers.

By far and away the best dither for ATF is tinfoil barbs. They're similar enough that the ATF accept them and school with them, they readily feed on pellets which teaches the tigers to eat pellets and best of all, they're cheap and easily replaceable. That's good because you WILL lose some.

Thanks for the heads up:) will deff pick up a few tinfoils. When u mentioned looks like them, i thought of cigar sharks and mahseers.😁

Cigar sharks and mahseers would work as well, but they're not as cheap or easily replaceable! I'm a fan of both if those fish, too.

Cigar sharks are as cheap as tinfoils here😁 i think ill add those in the mix. Plus they easily take pellets:))

Should i remove my african aro?

Ever since i saw ur Mad Max, ive always wanted a number of them:)) i know i should've gone vittatus but they are harder to come by here:/

Update! The TATF is growing faster than the GATF. Normal? Or does it mean that the TATF assumes the role of the Alpha? 4 tinfoils did the trick and they're all far lol. I threw in a feeder who works as dither as well and he's then one being bullied:)

Yes, Tatf grow faster then Gatf. Mine grew about twice as fast as my Gatf.

I bet the Tatf will be king before too long and once larger will knock the others off.
