So I'm starting my shoal of ATF's. Will have 3 tomorrow, and I'm hoping I can get them to live together, if not I'll keep them in seperate tanks, but really hoping I can keep them in my main as a group. Considering adding more if it works out. Hoping some dithers will make a difference. My problem is 2 out of the 3 aren't off live so I may have to give feeders for a little while and then try and get them all off live together.

It is more likely to work with a highter number of atf's or dithers rather than just the 3 ATF. If one of the tigers is off live the other 2 will copy, they are competetive feeders, it will not take long. Unless you are conserned about their condition I would start with the non live and use the one to teach the others.

Dither fish won't work!!they pick on their own kind! I even had a payara in with my 3.none ever bothered him n they were very close to being the same color even! Even meaner fish than them won't work! I had p-bass with mine n they still picked on each other while getting picked on themselves!I've always heard with predator fish keep 1 or 4 or more to spread aggression! BUT again I don't think it works for gatf. Underboss8 had a bunch in same tank with no luck! After losing a couple he split them up.I bought all 3 n housed them together for 2 1/2 months.I was constantly having to rearrange the tank or actually get into the tank to split the fights up! Shoaling gatf?? Lmfao! You do know how big these can get right? Raising n housing just one will be hard enough without trying a shoal!!!you might get lucky for a minute, but it will go sour fast!

I tried that with my three 4 inchers. The smallest one got picked on constantly by the biggest one. To the point where he had a huge gash down the side. When I separated the big one the middle one started picking on him. Now I've got them all separated and feeding the heck out of the smallest one. I'll try to put them together when they're a little bigger but for now they can't play together :D
