I'm wondering if anyone has dealt with a very damaged face on their goliath and if it recovered?? Any pictures would help.. It's his nose/ mouth.. He ran into the tank wall a few times.. I've seen him recover from some injuries but this one seems bad..

Are you saying yours smashed its snout but other than that behaves normal, feeds and swims?

If it's snout was smashed into cubic-shaped, there's no way it could be healed completely. That means it smashed itself real hard its front jaws were mishaped. I lost one jumpy GATF of mine who's 14" and been this way since it was 4" like a week ago.
To prevent it, is having only one ATF with non-aggressive dithers like Tinfoil Barb I think. Also, you may use decorations that won't caused damage to it as an alarm. I have a wavemaker on one side and oxygen stone on the other. The tank was blacked 3 sided also.

Yes he still always eats but this time it's bad.. I think he will heal but this fish obviously can't stay in the tank.. also I have a FATF and he harrasses the goliath to no end.. I think I'm just done with Tiger fish .. too fast for a tank
I have a 16 inch plus gatf and it rub its snout around the glass and go up and down. Has totally scratched the **** out of my tanks wall unfortunately. Regardless mine has taken the occasional bump and what not but heals within a few days.
