Today when I got home from work Lecter was acting really hungry(big suprise) so i thought I would try to feed him by just putting the feeder partially in the water because he usually takes them as soon as they break the surface of the water anyway.I got the feeder down in the water and at 1st he hesitated and then WHAM,,came across the aquarium and took the feeder from my fingers. :grinyes:i will try to get a video of it soon and show you guys, but it was so cool. :woot:

Wow take pics if you can do the feat again. Easy with the flash though because the atf might bite you by mistake :ner2:

I will but I am not going to keep doing it a whole lot because I don't want him associating my hand or any other hand as a sign for food,,just in case I might have to reach in the tank for cleaning one day and then POW,,Lecter would really live up to his name then.

im getting one

that's awesome, I'm glad you're wise enough to avoid making this a regular practice though. How big is your ATF?

Did you count our fingers after the feeding? :) I had one slice my finger when it panicked while i was cleaning the tank.

Yeah i am keeping count on all my digits :) He won't stay still long enough to get and accurate measurement but I would say close to 6 inches,I will try to borrow a digital camera and get pics of him soon.

ive got one and its about the same size. im trying to get it to eat frozen krill or shrimp so i dont have to always run to the pet shop for feeders. i dont think it will eat from my hands cuz it pretty scared when ever im around. Maybe it just needs to get used to the tank?

it can take alot of time and effort before a fish will get bold enough to eat from your hands. You'll need lots of patience...
