right i now i have a 2.5" ATF with a 2" royal pleco. i was thinkin of addin a 2.5" - 3" delhizi bichir. is that possible? how would it work. any help would be appreciated.

Stay away from anything aggressive or that grows fast, as they will out grow and pick on, or kill your ATF.
You could go with bichirs, semi aggressive african cichlids (peacocks, Haps, etc...), dithers (tinfoil barbs, bala sharks, silver dollars, etc...), and Synodontis catfish (Decorus or Angelicus). You could also give Distichodus sp (Lussosso, Sexfaciatus, Affinis) a shot, but keep an eye out for aggression as they grow.
I hope that helps.

hey david...hahaha you know who this is right? you lame your gettin me the delhizi

hey tigerfangs. i was wondering. arent ATF suppose to be aggressive? how come i have to watch out? shouldnt other fish be in danger? just a question. cuz when i first got into fish. i got a bichir and i asked wes at rare fish what his most aggressive fish was. at time he was lettin the atf's go at like 130 a piece i think. but it seems everyone tells me to watch out. why is that?

ATFs aren't normally aggressive as juvies and will get pushed around or killed by aggressive fish like some cichlids, because they don't defend themselves well. As they get larger (12"+), they usually can handle their own. Even then, I wouldn't call them aggressive. They are fearsome predators, but not an all out aggressive fish.

how about odoe african pikes, can they be kept with african tigers as tankmates?

You can if the tank is big enough. I have one with mine, but then again, I also keep several ATFs with it, and they are the same size or larger than the pike. Pikes do have attitude and it does at times chased them, but because there are several, no one has been injured. I'm not sure I'd try it with only one ATF, I've heard from a few members of another board that their ATF was killed by an Odoe Pike.

ic thanks.. i would have thought that the odoe would be the one in danger of aggression from the ATF.. what if the tiger fish is bigger would that work?

If the ATF is bigger, the chances are better that it will work. Remember that personality or aggression varies greatly from fish to fish, so I can't predict the outcome. Try it and see, just have another tank ready in case you have to remove one of them.
