neither fish can be kept in a conventional (240g) tank, but at least vittatus stay smaller. I reckon anyone shy of having a large pond is a scumbag for trying to keep a goliath.

no... unless one set out with the intent to euthanize such a fish as its size grows. ive run into very few ppl who felt that way though.
 
To each his own, but tigerfangs has showed that he can keep them thriving in his setup. If were going disallow all the fish that we cant keep in conventional fish tanks, then MFK shouldnt even exist .
 
i would keep the goliath but i hve to get the room for it first :) :)
 
whats the max size of a goliath and how long does it take to get there?
