On the Rio Araguaia, I wish...
Okay this might be a newb question but help me out if you can please. I am beginning to purchase the parts to build my new above ground pond and am trying to figure out the appropriate flow rates that I need.

I have two 3/4" bulkheads, one for each side with Line-Loc fittings that are split with a Y into two adjustable Line-Loc powerhead tips per side as part of the returns and was planning on having the fast falls in the middle between those two just for aeration purposes.

This is what I'm considering doing but I don't know if the flow rate will be high enough...I am going to run two Savio WMS5000 pumps and split the return with a Y with half of each pump going to the power heads and want the other half of the Y going into one side of the fast falls. I am going to drill an equal sized 2" bulkhead on the opposite side of the fast falls since they only come predrilled on one side.

The outlet is only 1.5" on the Savio and I assume I would be splitting to two 1" with a Y connector then just tapering it down for the 3/4" bulkheads that go to the powerheads and expanding it for the 2" bulkhead on the fast falls.

My question is will I still have a good flow/balanced flow out of the fast falls with two 1" inlets as opposed to the normal 2" single sided inlet.

Thanks,
Trent

One 2" into the waterfall box is better. The speed of the water exiting a 1" pipe is a lot higher causing too much current in the box. You may want to checkout how thick this box is. Appears thin to me. If too thin the box will bow and sag resulting in a un-level spillway. The SP4800 is 48" wide. I just installed a wlim 36" wide fall with 6000 gph fed by one 2" bulkhead. Flow is fine.
