Atlantic Rays?

Does anyone have any experience with Atlantic Rays? I'm curious how touchy they are and if they are any more picky as far as food and what not compared to most freshwater rays?

I'm asking becuase I found a store saying they are getting some from some guy that has been breeding them completely freshwater locally, at $55 a piece? Good price I would assume, but I dont want to fuss with them if they are a PITA species of ray to care for!

Any experience and knowledge on the atlantic rays would be great!

lots of past threads.... if they are captive and eating and you maintain pristine water they should be fine... large tank great filtration etc...

From what I have read, it is not worth trying to mess with the atlantic rays unless I have massive quantities of water or really wish to change water 7 days a week... I'll probably just hold out for another moto in that case!

Atlantic Rays are easy to care for IMO. I have a 125 pond and run 2 canister filters that turn over 350GPH each and never have a problem. Eating takes a while, but once they start look out.

Atlantic rays are not captive bred, so I would not hold my breath on that info.

if they are captive bred then i would assume they are hardier and easyier to care for...

I've had them before, but as saltwater. Not as bad to keep as some make it sound.... the group even had pups.
