Hey I had this crazy idea when thinking of ways to expand my fish addiction :) and I thought about connecting my two 55 gallon tanks together. I thought of maybe doing this by cutting out a whole at one end of each tank and connecting an acrylic or glass cylinder to the two tanks to create a path??? is this possible or am I just dreaming up impossibilities, heres a sketch of what I want it to look like... K's represent water everything else represents design,,,, and O's represent empty space...

^^Thats rediculous, unless you have water pumping from one tank to another there is no way that water would be able to stay in the tube.

go for it.. just be sure to post pics

physics :screwy:

if you drill a hole in the tube... you would have water all over the floor and none in the tube... however if it is sealed... it will hold water forever..

you now have homework
go fill the sink with water... put a glass in the sink underwater and let it fill with water.. then pull the glass 3/4 of the way out of the water bottom first...

then do the same thing only this time put a piece of airline tube (or a straw) in the glass and blow some air into it

report your findings here

I've seen this type of thing done but with a much more tubing running all through the mans house...I know how this works and and definatly would be a fun thing to attempt also fairly easy to dissasemble in the event of an emergency....Does anyone know where I might be able to purches pre-made pipeing like the stuff in the photo that I could just connect to the ceiling and BAM ready to go??? thank you for all your replys and convo's very interesting

That stuff is custom made. If you want that, you will need to learn to work with acrylic. There is a company that does it but they are not cheap. It is called a water bridge.

that wood look reat in my bedroom as a canopy
