Today i did my second attempt at introducing my red tail to his new tank. the first attempt didnt go to well cause the other fish ended up beating up on him pretty bad. So today i took all the other fish out and put them in a temp tank, and i left the RTC inside with a few feeders. the other fish are, 1 red devil. 1 jag. 1 nicaraguan cichlid (?), 1 male convict, 1-2 jack dempsys ( still not sure if im gonna put them back). The game plan i had set out was to leave the RTC in the big tank alone till he ate the few feeders i left for him ( guessing will be a couple of days) then add a fish a day or so. From what ive noticed the nic is the most aggressive of all and the hiding spot the RTC picked out used to be the nic / rd's little hide out so i have a feeling this may be a problem. Just looking for some input on how i should reintroduce the old fish. :nilly:

Rearrange the decorations so they have to reclaim territories other that there is not much you can do without taking out fish.

ya i took out all the plants and i just left the one hiding spot because its a ship. taking out fish isnt a problem my friend said he's willing to take whatever i chose to move. but i guess ill wait to see what more people say on that.

lots of hiding places and plants are a good thing. just move them to different places and do a big water change so the old fish think they are someplace else and have to learn to get along all over again.

it's not a fool proof plan, but it works more often than not.
