So the area i live in has high ph/hardness to water. the hardness i forget the measurement but the pH is 7.6/7.7 out of the tap. in the tank it rises to 7.8/7.9 i was considering adding a media bag with a small amount of peat moss to it. i am using an aquaclear 70 on a 38g that will soon become a 55g. any advice?

i went to lowes and found some from a company called Premier. its sphagnum peat moss designed for organic growing... so no additives...

i was planning on using a very small amount, roughly 2-3 oz.

i ended up "steeping" a small amount of peat to remove some color and then added as a stage to my aquaclear 70 dropped my ph from a 7.8/8.0 to a 7.3/7.4 im very happy. and after 1 day all fish still look healthy

I have same brand, its a pain changing it out on a 90gal so I just said **** it and my fish seem the same.

Value is good tho its like a 3' cubic brick of peat

Definitely will give ya an update. Also I bought a media bag from petco for like 3$ or something to keep it in so it shouldn't be too difficult to change but the cost is great as compared to other companies peat media for tanks.
