On Wednesday March 3rd there will be a California Fish & Game Commission meeting to discuss proposals to BAN all non native turtles and frogs, as well as severely restrict the ownership of beaded lizards. The meeting will be held in Ontario, CA. USARK has hired professional representation and will attend this meeting to defend the interests of California Herpers. The USARK delegation will include President Andrew Wyatt, Director Gary Bagnall and Senior Advisor George Osborn.

 ALL NON NATIVE TURTLES BANNED?! men you guys should really do something about it, banning them like that is no awnser to anything, turtles are not exacly hard to control, even if that requires knowing all persons having non native turtles and microshiping them all. For frogs thats trickyer but for turtles that can defenetly be arranged and its no excuse for banning them! Flea markets end yes, responsable turtle ownership NO.

wait, does this include tortoises?

What do they expect to have happen to the massive amount of frogs and turtles people already have?

yeah turts and tortoises are already illegal here in NC :( but its only the sale of them, you can still own them you just have to find them elsewhere, def all you cailfornia people need go out there and fight it, having them be illegal here SUCKS and its all because irresponsible owners were stupid and didnt keep things clean, and parents not watching their children when interacting with them and people got salmonella :(

that sucks, why does cali ban everything =[

i dont know anything about this bill but it will probably be to where the ones already in peoples posession will be grandfathered in but that breeding them and selling them would be illegal :(

wow, my state is so whack
i will bet that even if any of the proposals/bans are passed i can just go to chinatown to buy turtles or frogs.

lol yeah totally, turtles aren't allowed to be sold anywhere in the states under 4in but china towns always have little turtle hatchlings for sale lol (even if they do keep them in horrible conditions...)
