Quarantine Tank
just curious about the influence of our addiction/hobby on your children...:grinyes:

do you find that they are also really into fish, kinda into fish, or not at all interested?

please share the MFK experience in regards to your children.:woot: how curious are they to learn about the hobby? do they ask simple questions or complex questions for their age? what do they ask or want to learn about?

for those of you who have raised children or have older kids, i was also wondering about how your kids opinions or interest in the hobby have changed throughout the years???

i dont have children myself but have a classroom of 20 kids, having several tanks of various animals i see that the students tend to want more pets at home and understand what it takes to care for living animals. i also have many students return year after year afterschool to revisit all my animals. simply a beautiful thing....:)

My oldest is really into my fish and turtle, she is always following me around watching and sometimes getting in my way as I clean and feed my tanks. She doesn't ask any questions right now but she isn't even 2 yet. My youngest watches the tanks but I think at the moment she is just watching the movement. She is only 2 weeks old.

My daughter is 2 she helps me peel shrimp and feed my monsters and has names for all of them. She loves visiting fish stores and picking stuff out. Its a trip when I clean the tank I need a step stool so I have to set up one just for her so she can help wipe it down

my daughter is almost 16 so i guess she has other things on her mind than fish

 you better watch out for a different kinda monster!

Yeah my daugther is 2 also. She loves going to the fish store. She also has to be right there while Im cleaning the tanks. I hope she grows up with an interest in fish.

im 15 no kids lol
my life is fish but te holy girl comes first only by passage of fish lol

I don't have any kid either, but there are a few younger kids in my local fish club. They are pretty intelegent when it comes to fish for their age. There is a 10 year old kid that has bred some african cichlids that I couldn't even get to breed.

There are also a couple girls there that breed betas and fancy guppys with these weird names.

There is also this little kid that is five. His parents said he has always been into fish. You can point to almost any fish in the mini fish auctions we have and he can give you the scientific name for them. It is amazing how this kid can memorize this stuff.

my sons 3 he loves my tanks he can tell you what every fish in my tank is he wants his own tank and he says he wants some choclate cichlids in it its so cute
