I made a DIY sump with wet/dry for my 29g! : ] So I used a 10g and have 18 scrubbies and some sponges and this filterfloss material. So I came up with an idea!

I have my overflow spill right onto my drip tray where it goes through the media to the bottom of the sump. From there it goes up through a sponge and egg crate. After it goes through the sponges, it falls to the area where it gets pumped back to the tank. Im sure I have enough media, but heres it is, my idea.

I was thinking where the water goes through the sponges to the pumps, I can add a bio wheel! : ] I would make little mounts/pegs so the bio wheel could spin freely. It might not be nessicasy(sp?), but for an over stocked tank(like mine), it could work!

What are your opinions on this?

Might look cool if nothing else! Go for it:)

Thanks for the encouragement! :)

What do you suggest I use for the pegs? And is there a biowheel that is like 10" wide? The 10g is like 20x10x10 right? So do they make one that size?

I've heard multiple registrations work very well.

pool filter inserts. same pleated bio-wheel design, waaay cheaper price. try a pool store or wal-mart, etc. now that the season is ending they might even be on sale. they'll need some modification to use as biowheels though - no pegs to spin on.

Soooo.... Andr3w aka TheOriginalMFKer is/was back???

(similar M.O.'s)

Sounds similar to a Marineland tidepool with bio wheel.
Make a 10% mod somewhere to get away from the legal stuff if you market/sell it.:naughty: :naughty:
