I stopped in there today to get some dechlor and they have the best setup I have seen around here. The owners/employees are really nice. The ground floor of the store has all the supplies you would ever need for fresh, salt, or brackish. Then there is a subway like stair that leads to to the underground sort or basement area that has all the fish. They have a nice selection of fish but are still setting up so there are some empty tanks. The best part of it are the price are awesome, they are the same or less than that of Petco and Petsmart. I hope this store is in for the long haul because I am sick of driving 1+ hours away to goto a decent store. All the info you need is in the link above.
 
i'm in eugene...where did you drive to before? Why didn't you just go to animal house in corvallis? Sure it looks like a dump (actually, it's more like it's literally an animal house) but has great price and even sales used equipment. Got a much better selection then your average store. i'll check this place out the next time i'm headin up I 5 though


Side note, i just called to check out their piranha stock and they tried to tell me that they're illegal except red bellies. wrong

Thats funny. Aqua Serene has piranha for like $10 each I think. I hate Animal House, the owners a (censored). He sold me a deformed Uaru and tried to pass it off as a shortbody. What made it short was its spine was curved, died 2 days later. I either drive to Eugene to goto Aqua Serene or Pet Time USA. Portland to far away unless I am going for something special.

Right now a lot of the fish they have are babies so in time they should start stocking larger older fish. I asked if they would buy my babies and I think they will they said. I am either gonna breed Kirin Parrots or something. They are nice people though.

Aqua Serene is great but way too pricey. Good staff though. yeah, they have baby reds for 10 but most places only want 5-7 bucks each. problem is i need sub adults (6-9 inches). i love the owner at pet time. nice guy, always giving me 10-20 percent off to try new food.

Can't say the staff at animal house has stood out but i've never needed to really interact with them. Wish they had given you better service though.

You ever go to rainbow pet? It's here in eugene, it's having a going out of business sale right now. Everything's 75 percent off. i'd say they still have about 60 percent of their stock last time i went in (friday). i think they transfered most of their stock to their reptile store though. That wiped out all the tanks except the display tanks but great if you want food, equipment or a 20 gallon tank (30 bucks, full set up plus whatever fish are already in the tank).

i have options here (animal house and A to Z pets on division street in portland) but animal house only has 2 adult, a red belly and a ternetzi that they want 250 each for. They're about a foot long, maybe bigger with horrible chimple.

A to Z pets i can grab them the size i need for 20 bucks or so. That's cuz they have some like 9 tanks dedicated to piranhas and actually grow them out. no one else will dedicate the tank space needed to keep bigger specimen since they'd want to house them solo to cut down on casualities. A to Z has them housed with exodons, oscars and random cichlids. They've also got some massive thick foot long black piranha called ternetzis. 4 of them, just beasts. 200 each but they've been there since i stumbled upon the store 3 years ago

Ordering, Aqua serene can only get babies in, pet time only gets them in trade ins. infact, i had to go to portland to get mine over a year ago because both Aqua Serene and pet time coudln't get any at the time i was finished cycling my tank.

Yes there carry everything for fresh, salt, brackish, and ponds. They also carry larger tanks so I won't have to drive to Salem or Eugene to get a large tank.

Yeah that guy only got 18 months and they took his business license away. His store sucked anyway.
