Just a quick question for any current or former trimac owners. On average, at what size would you say a Trimac will "Snap"? You know, kind of hit maturity and decide that s/he doesn't have to take crap off of any of its tankmates any longer? For my midas it was around 5". I have heard that Trimacs can be sexually mature at 4-5", so I am thinking that this is when they'd become more aggressive. Until one day, my midas was fine living with other fish. Fortunately I had the day off and was just staring at the tank when my oscar bulldozed my midas' PVC cave for the last time and he came out hellbent on destroying all his tankmates. I've recently purchased 4 trimacs from Jeff Rapps, and have one housed with 3 black acaras and a male con that are all equal or bigger in size. He's in there cause i recently learned (after one murder) that keeping juvi trimas together doesn't work. I decided to keep the other three seperate, and this is the only tank I had for the smallest guy. I know that this post is poorly written, but I'm sure you all follow it. The basic question is...how long do I have before I need to seperate the Trimac from his tank mates? He's currently 2".

yes they are mean as hell and they grow hella fast! mine used to jump out of water to bite me and he always used to hit the floor! ill post up some pics somtime!
