Ok, so my husband and I are currently living in Louisiana. We own a house near Westcliffe, CO, south of Canon City. We are moving up there in the next couple of months. I am currently working at my local Petco as the "aquatics specialist", and I am thinking of getting a transfer to one of the Petcos in Colorado Springs. My question is...what has been your experience with the Petcos up there? Are the people there knowledgable? I really enjoy my job here and I wouldn't mind continuing to do it in Colorado. I have a degree in Animal Science and I am waiting to get on with the Department of Wildlife or the BLM possibly, but in the meantime, I need something to do :) I just want to know what the Petcos are like up there...are they clean? Do they seem to be managed well? I know this is an odd thing to ask about, I just wanted to know what your experiences have been with them. If I am going to commute and hour and a half a day, it better be to some place nice LOL. Anyway, any advice you could give me would be great! Thanks in advance!

I live in Denver. I can't talk for the Springs, but my observations here with the Petco's I've gone to have been overall pretty good. I mean the stores seem clean and most of the people are pretty nice. I have seen however, that many of their associates seem to affirm things that are way off like, "driftwood removes nitrates" as one of them told me. I've also found that many of their fish are sick or infected with bacteria. Still, since I live right next to one, I continue to be a faithful patron especially for the water conditioners and medicines.

Sorry, I'm about 90 miles north of the "springs", but welcome to Colorado.:)
 
Noticed you are moving to Westcliffe Colorado lived here my whole life!! I have a large number of tanks and fish and would love to meet people with same passion for fish keeping as I have that are nearby give me a shout. Darrell
