The openings in my stand are 13 5/8 wide. Will a large eheim filter fit in the stand? I've heard conflicting info on the actual dimentions, minus the handles. The stand is 34" tall so height is not an issue. Thanks in advance!

Just measured my 2260. The bottom of the filter housing is 11 5/8" wide, excluding the drain tap.
The top of the filter without the lid & the latches engaged (vertical) is 13 3/4" wide.
With the lid attached including the hand grips, it is 15 7/8" wide.

Skip the surgery, just pull it away from the wall a bit. The pump can be turned slightly to make everything work just fine.

The problem is the filter won't fit through the existing door.

just take the base off of the pump by tapping it with a rubber mallet and put attach it on one of its sides like so and lose the top I have found no need for it. :naughty:

can you give us some pics?

My cabinet door openings are 13 5/8 wide and 25" tall. I don't think it'll fit in there without some trimming. I could attach a pic, but that's all it'll show.

It's the width that I'm concerned with. The height is not an issue. According to the first response, the filter is 13 3/4 wide w/o the handles so I need to trim the stand a bit

The top of the filter without the lid & the latches engaged (vertical) is 13 3/4" wide.
the way this is stated is confusing. maybe im just drunk but i want to say the diameter at the top is 13 3/4" but it almost reads as just under 14 inches tall.
if you infact have only a 1/8 inch difference to squeeze the canister in
(if you go 2262) i would do it. just push a little and yank a little when cleaning time comes. i dont know know what the stand looks like but i personally dont like altering the structural stability of something holding 2400lbs of water
