Im a newbie to leucostictas and red heads. So.. i need your help..
Question for you guys..
Which food gave you the best results in terms of colors and health??

Hikari cichlid gold??
Hikari sichlid bio gold??
NLS???
Hikari massivore delight??

i have about 45 Geos, redheads (10) leucositas(6) altifrons (15) dameons(5) abailos(2) i feed them all tetra sinking bits, algae wafers and sinking bio gold

Hurry gotta get this in before RD. recites the Fish Keeping Bible verses of Nutritional Foods. HOT DOGS HOT DOGS!

Ok, I would go with the Gold, and not Bio Gold...seeing that you need RED. You may even wanna try Omega One Super Color...Amen to Cheap Foods!

Cool! Tahnks fellas.
So the bio gold will not be more beneficial compared to the gold?
please elaborate..

I understand the concept of the varied diet.
I just thought the bio gold is better?? Pls school me.

This coming from someone that used to brag about feeding Vienna sausages to his fish. :screwy:

I've kept both, and both did exceptionally well on 1mm NLS. (which already is a complete & varied diet)

FYI - Bio-Gold is more nutritionally complete than Gold, and the price difference between the two reflects that.

Whatever you decide to feed, keep the pellet size small, these fish are hard wired to sift & eat food of smaller particle size. (certainly not Massivore sized pellets)

My smaller geos love the NLS 1mm pellets and the Xtreme Pee-Wee pellets. They're tiny but easier to sift and chew. I don't get into the whole NLS vs Hikari debate -- I've had great luck with all. Right now I feed a mix of NLS, Hikari Cichlid Gold sinking, and Xtreme. You can mix them all together and feed a variety with every meal or you can just do what I do and feed from whichever container you happen to grab. ;)
