Auchenoglanis biscutatus

I think based on Yellowcat's and my experience, A. biscutatus stays around 5" for many years. It is either an excruciatingly slow-growing fish or it is confused with some other species in the genus.

I have 3 of them, as of a year and 3 months ago when I received them, the sizes ranged from 2 to 3 1/2 inches. Since then they have all grown and although they are quite shy and only the largest one can be observed occasionally, it has now grown to around 9 inches TL...

Got them from Wet Spot Tropical Fish in Portland Oregon, they were $45 each plus $50 shipping, in November 2019. They haven't gotten any since. This species is very hard to find, I waited for years to get 'em...
 
Hey,
I decided to give it a try and ordered one of the A.biscutatus from Glaser.
It will arrive on wednesday.
I really hope they don't confuse it with occidentalis or wittei.

If it grows past 45cm I will have to rehome it into a 10ft tank which belongs to a friend of mine.
