AUL+Jardini ????

What do you think of this combo? They are both around 30cms but the lung would have a lot more mass than the jar... Do you guys think my Jar would smash it?

One has became available and this is my deciding factor because I dont have another tank for the lungfish....
 
I suppose that would depend on a lot of things.
First, it would depend on the personalities of both fish. If you've got a pretty mellow jar, it should be okay. Second, it would depend on which grows faster. Third, you might want to put in some dither fish or something to distract the jar, that wont pester the AUL. Finally, I'd be sure to provide some sort of hiding spot for the AUL. Once it gets bigger than the jar, you won't have to worry though. Jars tend to stay away from things much bigger than them.
 
Yeah I think it will work seeing as the lung is a bottom dweller.
It would be a wicked combo if it does work though hey:)


Still not sure If I want to do the trade though... my LF Albino senegal for the Aussie lung which I probably wont be able to house for ever...hmmmm

That's a tough decision. I'd go for the AUL, but it's all up to you.
 
Id keep what you have if you cant house the fish for life just my opinion ggod luck.
 
the jar will very likely mess with the lung or cause it to hide all the time (AULs already hide a lot of the time, so being bullied into hiding all the time will make owning the fish pretty much pointless). if you want the AUL, i would get rid of the jar. if you see the lung outgrowing your tank soon (they frequently clear 18" in their first year), then skip the lung--

Losing the Jardini isnt an option..

get the aul! seriously... if its already at 30 cm then its gonna be growin really slow. itll b like another 2-3 years before it gets to 2 feet (60cm) and then can take like 10-15 years before its 3 feet...
