Hi, few weeks ago a receive a bag of juveniles from online seller (bi color500, blue neon, lwanda, ngara flametail, turkis peacock, afra jalo reef), some of them already start to develop male traits? But one of them looks a bit suspiciously to me. He have horizontal bar and markings right below the dorsal fin which reminds me those on few bigger haps.
Could you have a look pls?

Still a bit small, give him some time. If you're wondering if it is a Peacock, he in my opinion definitely is. The question i would have instead is if he was a she.

I am not the best at ID, but I have never seen a peacock with a horizontal bar regardless of size/age.

Looks a bit like a Protomelas taeniolatus or Protomelas taeniolatus x peacock to me, the most common is red empress.
I have seen red empress come in with assorted peaocks from asia.

I have an update on this fish. He is colouring nicely and those strange markings disappeared.
Can you have a look and guess which one of my list it could be. I will bet on lwanda?
