Stuck inside my own head
I noticed today that one of my Auratus is holding fry. She's taken to hiding in one of my floating logs so she isn't getting harassed by any tankmates but I wonder if that would be enough. I don't have any spare tanks available to separate her but I do have plastic net breeding bin I could put in. Should I try to put the parent into this, wait a few more day and strip the fry into the bin, or just let nature take its course like it already is? Which option would be best?

I would put her into the bin, then let nature take its course. I had my albio red top zebra in a plastic breeder and she ended up spitting them all out every morning. Then I just kept them in the breeder for about 3 months till i got a 10 gallon to hold them in. Good luck.

If you don't have another tank for the mom, there's no tank for the fry, either. I'd keep an eye on her, and if she's really taking a beating, just strip the eggs back into the tank and your other fish will eat them. Then let her recoup in a breeder net for a few days.
