"Green Bottle Puffer" - this species is said to be extremely agreesive towards any other fish you decide to put in their tank with them.

Im looking for anyone who has first-hand experience with these so-called terrible Puffers?

Thanks in advance!:headbang2

^ Not had experience with this species of puffer, but having owned a few different species of F/W puffers i can tell you that they each have their own personality, even within the same species... so if your asking if you should keep your puffer with other fish, the answer is simple, if you don't mind losing the Puffers tankmates, then go ahead and try it to see what happens.. otherwise, just keep a singleton in its own tank...

"Nesfastus" is actually an outdated term I believe. The puffers of the "Auriglobus" type have been classified into two puffers: A. Modestus and A. Silus.

Modestus: http://www.**************.com/forum/ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Freshwater/A_Modestus/

Silus: http://www.**************.com/forum/ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Freshwater/A_silus/

Nope, there is actually a much larger species, Nesfastus, which looks very close to the other 2 above mentioned species. I have never seen it available in the aquarium trade in the 15 years I've been collecting puffers. More than likely, it's one of the other 2 FW species.

It's A. nefastus. They're available at thatfishplace and thatpetplace for $5 each. These are nasty little beasts. Scrappy and destructive towards all tankmates including conspecifics. Fishbase lists their diet as being fish scales and fins. The 4 I tried had to be placed in individual tanks. I maintained them in alkaline freshwater with only maintenance salt.

Oops, spelled it w/o looking it up 1st! I'll bet you anything, they're mislabeled at those places though.
