Biology

Occur in backwaters of rivers, swamps, and stagnant ponds. Inhabit soft bottom sediments in quiet, well-vegetated backwaters of brackish estuaries and nearby swamps. Found in lower freshwater reaches of rivers. Cryptic, nocturnally active species, which burrow in bottom sediments. The best chance of sighting this elusive fish is by spotlighting along thickly vegetated margins of suitable habitats at night. They are capable of surviving short periods out of water. A current taxonomic study of this family indicates this species probably should be placed in a new genus

Was wondering if Oddball was gonna chime in ;) Pictures! lol

In saying that,do you think it would be ok with the 1 tablespoon per 10 litres method? As that shouldnt effect my other fish.

Sweet! Do you think it will be ok in freshwater only?

When i picked up the eel it had an infection mid way down its body.looked like the slime coat was coming off.the shop was treating it with pimafix.im currently treating it with melafix and salt but it hasnt improved in the last 4 days.any ideas as that treatment usually works,im a bit puzzled.
