The LFS near me just got a ton of these guys in. has anyone ever owned one or have any info on them?
What do they usually sell for?

Australian Arowana are usually called jardinis and they don't grow as large as silver Arowana but they are known for being aggressive as they get older and price wise they run from $40-$60 for a 3inch jardini depending the store u buy them

yea the store by me was selling them for $40

That is a good deal, I usually see them around $70-$80 by me. But each area has their own deals, by me I can pick-up a 5-6inch. thin bar Dat for $35 which is decent and I do mean 5-6inch.

@ the OP it was stated before by BrandonJ3vino pretty accurately. They don't grow as large as say a Silver or Black, but they also tend to be less agile. Meaning they can't fold themselves in half as much as say a Silver. So unfortunately their smaller size doesn't necessarily make them easier to house in a smaller tank than a Silver or Black. They come in two flavors Leichardti and Jardini though the Lei is rare in the hobby and your guaranteed what your looking out is a Jar. Lei's are my favorite because of their color scheme and peaceful(for an Aussie Aro) personality. Jar's tend to be fairly aggressive and may require a tank to themselves as they grow, though I have heard some say they've had success comm'ing them. I just saw a vid on here the other day where someone had a 20 inch Jar with approx. same sized Black and Silver Aro's and they where fine together. No ripped fins or signs of aggression that I could see, still I'd be wary.

Where i live, i have a fish farm less than 20 minutes away that breeds leichardti (pond bred), the farmer says they only breed in our summer/ wet season which is winter for the yanks. Also breeds barramundi and other native fresh water fish, great place (:
